Union Suffers Road Loss, Nets First-Ever Club Goal

Published Apr 5, 2022

The Union hit the road to take on the Maryland Bobcats FC at the Maryland Soccerplex this past Saturday, April 2nd.

Though a strong first half performance, the Union were behind 2-0. We had several shots on goal, but were unable to put them in the back of the net. Our attacking was strong and we were able to push Maryland defensive lines and break though.

After the break, we came out strong in the second half and re-energized. At the 57', Giancarlo Canas-Jarquin scored the first-ever goal for the Flower City Union, as well as his first professional goal. History was made and we could not be more proud of Giancarlo!

Pressing on late into the second half, the Union unfortunately could not put away anymore goals and ended with a loss, 6-1 on the road.
