Position Overview

Flower City Union and Flower City 1872 are seeking a passionate and community-oriented Part-Time Community Engagement Manager to help build and sustain meaningful relationships with local organizations, fans, and community leaders. This role is integral to creating and expanding Flower City Union’s community impact, engaging diverse audiences, and supporting the club’s mission to grow the sport of soccer while making a positive difference in the Rochester area.

The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for creating, organizing, and executing community events, outreach initiatives, and partnerships. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with various community groups, schools, non-profits, and local businesses, fostering connections that will deepen Flower City Union and Flower City 1872’s presence and reputation as a community-first soccer organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Establish and cultivate strong, ongoing ​relationships with local organizations, schools, youth programs, non-profits, and other community groups.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between Flower City Union and Flower City 1872 and the local community, ensuring open lines of communication and ongoing engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships that align with the club’s mission and enhance community relations.
  • Represent Flower City Union and Flower City 1872 at community events, meetings, and forums to strengthen the club’s local presence and impact.
  • Engage with local youth and grassroots soccer leagues to promote participation and introduce Flower City Union and Flower City 1872’s programs.

2. Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, organize, and execute community-focused events, including soccer clinics, youth camps, meet-and-greets, school outreach programs, and charity initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including scheduling, securing venues, managing volunteers, and overseeing the promotion and execution of the events.
  • Ensure that Flower City Union and Flower City 1872’s community events are accessible, inclusive, and designed to foster positive relationships with diverse groups.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote events through social media, local media, email newsletters, and flyers.
  • Measure the success and impact of community events and programs, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements.

3. Fan Engagement & Experience

  • Develop and implement fan engagement initiatives that enhance the match-day experience for fans and encourage participation in community events.
  • Coordinate special fan events, such as player meet-and-greets, autograph signings, or game-day promotions, to deepen fan loyalty and excitement.
  • Build relationships with season ticket holders and local supporters to foster a strong, engaged fan base.
  • Assist in managing and promoting Flower City Union and Flower City 1872’s community loyalty programs, helping fans feel more connected to the team and its mission.

4. Collaborative Partnerships & Outreach

  • Work with local businesses, corporations, and other organizations to create mutually beneficial community partnerships that increase exposure for Flower City Union and Flower City 1872 while benefiting the local community.
  • Assist in identifying new corporate and community sponsorship opportunities tied to specific events or initiatives.
  • Help manage Flower City Union and Flower City 1872’s participation in charity drives, local fundraisers, and other initiatives that benefit the Rochester community.

5. Administrative Support & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of community outreach activities, partnerships, and events.
  • Assist in creating reports on community engagement efforts, including metrics on participation, partnerships, and event outcomes.
  • Track the effectiveness of community programs and provide insights and recommendations to improve future initiatives.
  • Support the marketing and sales team in coordinating community-focused campaigns and messaging.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays to support events and match-day activities.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel around the local Rochester area.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and customer-focused attitude with a passion for community-building.
